So you are a twenty or thirty something.
You've got a decent job, lots of friends and even a little extra cash in your pockets. You work hard during the week and "live it up" on the weekends. By all measures life is good. But something isn't right. An irksome feeling has begun to creep into your inner most self. It started quietly at first, perhaps it was a subtle feeling of loneliness at a crowded social event, a dinner party perhaps or an after work happy hour. Now the feeling seems to permeate your every thought. Your view of the world is increasingly skeptical. Is it just you or does nothing seem like it should be? The feeling intensifies and you become more agitated. Things that made you happy in the past no longer have any meaning to you. You second guess yourself with almost every decision you make. You are starting to drive yourself crazy with all this, what the heck is the matter with you!!!
Relax, you are not alone
There are many others out there with similar experiences who have come to realize that there must be something more to life than the purely materialistic goals we have been taught to set for ourselves. But what is this something more? How can we come to recognize it as an attainable destination. Forget abstract philosophical talk or theological ramblings, how can we see it, feel it and achieve it in our daily lives? How does this "something more" relate to relationships, work life, and other very real issues that we face every day?
Lets talk about it
This blog is set up by quarterlifers to address these issues and other issues of importance to us at this important stage of our lives. Each week or so we will post a commentary on a particular topic and invite comments on the posting. We will also have links to cool stuff like podcasts, live online discussions (skypecasts) and organzed chat sessions on issues of interest. We do not claim to have all the answers. But we may have some answers that you don't just as you may have some that we have not considered. The point is that by sharing our thoughts and experiences we can help each other find peace, happiness and understanding.
This is not a place for religious fundamentalists or fanatics. The idea here is to foster an open environment and encourage dialog on spiritual issues. Thanks and happy blogging!
